Machine Operator

The machine operator is responsible for managing the daily work schedule, quality control, setups of the machine, troubleshooting of machines, management and training/development of crews. In addition to establishing and improving production standards, the role includes working with others in the company to provide the highest level of customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for a machine operator
• Manage the crew to reach company’s customer service, profit, sales, and growth goals through waste control and product quality.
• Perform job setups.
• Must have the ability to trouble shoot machine problems on the run and during down time.
• Perform preventive maintenance.
• Manage production of the current job on the machine.
• Communicate the job vision and expectations to the crew.
• Assist in developing and administering department operational policies and procedures.
• Provide reports to the shift supervisor regarding crews performance and job progress.
• Work in a team environment with crews, other machine operators, and supervisors to meet company production and staffing goals.
• Display a positive attitude towards finishing jobs, the crew, the company, and themselves.
• Enforce safety regulations.
• Follow department operational policies and procedures.
• Perform all other duties assigned and those that may be necessary to achieve company and departmental goals.

Shift: 2nd shift (4pm-12am) and 3rd shift (12am - 8am)

Production Supervisor

This position functions as the production supervisor. The production supervisor must fully understand the goals and philosophies of the company and be able to apply them to the daily operations. Must be responsible for all the operations on your shift, the daily workflow schedule, quality control, equipment maintenance, training and crew development.   The production supervisor must be able to make clear decisions and carry them out in a quick and professional manner.  In addition to establishing and improving production standards, the role includes working with others in the company to provide the highest level of customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for the Production Supervisor

  • Manage shift to reach company’s customer service, profit, sales, and growth goals.
  • Manage the daily production schedule for your shift.
  • Inspect jobs to verify conformance to specifications and direct setups and adjustments of the machines.
  • Must monitor the performance of the crew and make the necessary adjustment to meet or exceed production goals.
  • Insure that the individuals on the production floor are busy with productive work.
  • Oversee all personnel to insure that production is running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Enforce safety regulations.
  • Study production schedules and establish or adjust work procedures to meet deadlines set.
  • Foster a respectful and positive work environment for all employees.
  • Communicate the job vision and expectations to the crew.
  • Assist in developing and administering department operational policies and procedures through regular company and departmental meetings.
  • Assist in developing and implementing immediate and long-range plans for department personnel and equipment.
  • Work in a team environment with other shift supervisors to enhance customer service and operational efficiency.
  • Administer performance reviews for each employee on your shift.
  • Follow up on machine maintenance schedule, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs.
  • Follow department operational policies and procedures.

Maintenance Tech

This position functions as the maintenance technician. Position responsible for being a department leader, along with assisting with the daily workflow schedule, quality control, equipment repair, and equipment maintenance.  In addition to establishing and improving production standards, the role includes working with others in the company to provide the best customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Help to reach company’s customer service, profit, sales, and growth goals.
• Troubleshooting machine problems, through basic problem solving techniques.
• Perform searches on the internet for parts, manuals & basic equipment information.
• Perform and/or overseeing the completion of preventative maintenance.
• Perform general repairs on production machinery, office equipment, and facilities.
• Provide technical assistance and information to the Facilities Manager.
• Follow department operational policies and procedures.
• Be a leader in the department.
• Be a mentor. A go to person for others in the department.
• Some larger projects may be assigned to you for layout, bids, material lists & implementing or leading the project.
• Expected to produce good quality work/workmanship routinely.
• Could be requested to work any of the 3 shifts or a mixed combo.
• Perform all other duties assigned and those that may be necessary to achieve company and departmental goals.

Education and/or Experience:
Associate’s degree in Electronics or related field; or 5 or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Forklift Operator

The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating the forklift on the production floor.  They are responsible for the equipment they operate, the inventory they handle and the safety of themselves and their co-workers as well as pedestrians in their immediate work area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Inspect equipment before and after each use.
• Unload/load shipments safely and move product to storage locations.
• Efficiently stack and store merchandise in the appropriate areas.
• Insure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.  Report quality variances.
• Pull and prepare product for shipment, insuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
• Fill slots with new stock.
• Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area.
• Perform or assist in equipment maintenance as needed.

Shift: 3rd shift (10pm-6am)

General Production

This position functions as General Production for the Production Department. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Follow all safety policies and guidelines.
• Help to reach company’s customer service, profit, sales, and growth goals.
• Continually communicate with the machine operator on the performance of the current job.
• Stack books evenly on a pallet/skid.
• Make sure information is correct on the tags for the skids or mail cages.
• Tie bundles together straight and even.
• Watch for jam-ups and miss-feeds on the machine.
• Efficiently feed the pockets with the printed materials as needed.
• Move pallets or skids as needed.
• Inspect product brought to the machine to insure accuracy.
• Check finished product for quality.
• Shrink-wrap pallets/skids for shipping.
• Verify correct information is placed on the pallet, skid or cage tag.
• Keep area around the machines and skids clean of unnecessary items.

Shift: 1st Shift (8am-4pm); 2nd Shift (4pm-12am); 3rd Shift (12am-8am)
